In a bid to enhance the academic and research capabilities of its faculty members, St Joseph College of Communication recently organized a Faculty Development Week from May 26th to May 30th. The event, spearheaded by the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) under the leadership of faculty coordinator Mr. Alwin Johnson, saw participation from esteemed resource persons and dignitaries from across the academic spectrum. The week-long program commenced with an inaugural session by Rev. Dr. Joshy Cheeramkuzhy CMI, Principal , Kristu Jyothi College of management and technology, emphasizing the importance of continuous learning and professional development. On day one, Dr. Remya B, IQAC Coordinator from Kristu Jayanti College, Banga lore, delivered a detailed session on the new NAAC accreditation criteria, providing valuable insights to the faculty. The highlight of the program was the session on Artificial Intelligence by Mr. Sunil Prabhakar,Consultant at Mathrubhumi On line,held on the second day, who not only theoretically discussed the scope of AI but also provided hands-on practical session. His session was highly appreciated by the faculty and was a significant takeaway from the program. Other notable sessions included on day three were discussions on trends and changes in research by Mrs. Parvathy Chandran from St. Xavier’s College, Vaikom. She inspired all teachers to initiate research in the media for the development of their careers. Followed by a session by Dr. Gabriel Simon Thattil, Director of MBA, SB College, Changanassery. The sessions were well-received by the faculty, who expressed their gratitude for the opportunity to learn from experts in their fields.The Faculty Development Week concluded with a sense of accomplishment and newfound knowledge among the faculty members, who are now better equipped to face the challenges of the rapidly evolving academic landscape.
