The BA Multimedia course is designed to create media professionals who are experts in the art and craft of filmmaking. Students have the option to specialize either in scriptwriting and direction or cinematography. Throughout the course, students gain practical experience in all stages of filmmaking, including pre-production, production, and post-production, covering areas such as scriptwriting, direction, cinematography, acting, and editing.
The programme also offers specialization in photography, covering fundamental and advanced photography techniques, photo retouching, and fashion photography. Practical training includes videography, lighting, multi-cam production, storyboarding, and sound design. In addition to technical skills, students receive instruction in storytelling, fiction, environmental studies, gender issues in media, media management, media budgeting, film certification processes, visual aesthetics, film appreciation, media ethics, human rights, and values.
The curriculum also includes multidisciplinary courses such as drawing, design, radio production, motion graphics, and scripting for various media platforms.
Along with this students are also trained in software like Adobe Photoshop, Premiere, Illustrator, Audition, Avid, Protools, FCP etc.
Programme Duration: 4 Years (8 Semesters)
Eligibility: +2 or equivalent
NB: Students have the option to graduate after three years. Upon completion of the required minimum courses totalling 133 credits, they will receive an undergraduate degree in their chosen field. Those who complete four years with a specific number of courses with 177 credits will earn a degree with honours.
