The BA Sound Design & Visual Editing programme aims to train proficient media professionals in sound recording, design, mixing, and video editing. It covers fundamental aspects of audio production including acoustics, audio electronics, digital electronics, music production techniques, sound recording, mixing, live sound reinforcement, sound design, and dialogue editing. Additionally, the programme addresses essential principles of visual editing such as editing techniques, nonlinear editing, continuity editing, multicam editing for TV production, 3D editing, colour correction, advanced compositing, documentary, and advertising editing.
Furthermore, students study courses in photography, editing, radio programme production, media management, media ethics, branding, and film appreciation. They also receive training in software such as Pro Tools, Nuendo, Adobe Premiere, Avid, FCP, After Effects, and surround sound formats like Atmos.
Programme Duration: 4 years (8 Semesters)
Eligibility: +2 or equivalent
NB: Students have the option to graduate after three years. Upon completion of the required minimum courses totalling 133 credits, they will receive an undergraduate degree in their chosen field. Those who complete four years with a specific number of courses with 177 credits will earn a degree with honours.
