Sankaramangalam Lecture Series

Prof. John Sankaramangalam was a reputed filmmaker and an eminent academician in the field of media studies. Being the former director of the Film and Television Institute of India and founding principal of St Joseph College of Communication, his contribution to the field of media education, especially film studies is unparalleled. He has played a vital role in moulding hundreds of filmmakers and artists across India.
To pay tribute to this legendary film academician St Joseph College of Communication has decided to conduct a lecture series in his name with the following objectives:

  • To enable society to critically analyse the art and craft of filmmaking.
  • To keep society updated and informed of the new trends and techniques in the field of media.
  • To give a social and moral orientation to the media industry

Sankaramangalam Lectures 2024-25

Theme: Emerging Trends and Challenges in Media

The 2024-25 edition of the Sankaramangalam Lecturers will be held on 6 February 2025 on the theme Emerging Trends and Challenges in Media. The Conference will include keynote lectures, paper presentations and discussions. Panellists will be academics, researchers, and media students creating an ideal environment for discussion. You are cordially invited.

This event welcomes academicians, students, scholars, and professionals in the media and communication field. Guidelines for Abstract/ Paper Submission

We invite original and unpublished research papers from faculty members, research scholars and students related to the conference theme. Those interested may send the abstract within 300 words and include 4-5 keywords by 15 December 2024. The abstract should contain the following details. Title of the paper, Author’s name, Institutional Affiliation, Phone number, and E-mail address. The abstract should be typed in MS Word, single space, 12 point Calibri font, margins 1 inch on all sides. The complete manuscript should be in the range of 3500-4000 words.

All submissions will undergo a peer-review process and be evaluated based on their relevance, originality and accuracy with respect to the conference theme.
