The second year BA Visual Arts students were taken for a one-day observation trip to Kottayam. They were accompanied by Mr. Madhuraj HoD VA, Mrs Deepa Jayachandran and Ms. Elizabeth George. They visited the Kitchen Wardrobe and Interior Designers where they were shown the different types of modern kitchens. They were also given an insight into the various materials used in kitchen units and the various modules, their dimensions and prices in modular kitchen. They also visited La Casa a furniture mart in Kottayam city where they were shown various types of furniture used in homes. They had a hands on experience in the furniture segment and the availability of the latest gadgets in the market. This was followed by a factory visit to Elba Traders, where they were shown how various units were built from plywood. They were demonstrated how, from the initial stage of mica pasting we get the end products used in homes. The trip, on a whole was very informative and valuable for the students.
