“Crown of the church” the biopic of the Archbishop Emeritus of the Archdiocese of Changanassery, Mar Joseph Powathil is ready to be released after its production and post-production stages. The movie is one hour ten minutes in duration and will be screened on Wednesday, 3rd October 2018 at 3 PM at Apsara theatre, Changanassery. The movie focuses on the various phases of the life of Mar Joseph Powathil giving special attention to his childhood, school education, seminary studies, studies at the Oxford University, life as a Priest, as the Auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Changanassery, as the Bishop of Kanjirappally diocese, as the Arch Bishop of Changanassery, as the Chairman of KCBC and the as the President of CBCI. His social, cultural and religious views and his ideology about the catholic church are very well reflected throughout the movie. The guidance given by Mar Joseph Powathil through the media and through his writings regarding the protection of the rights of the dalit Christians is sure to receive applause from the viewers. The portrayal of his life as the lecturer and the hostel warden at St. Berchmans College, Changanassery adds more color to the movie. Kumbanad Powathil family, St.Berchmans College, Changanassery Bishop’s house, Kanjirappally Bishop’s house, Changanassery Metropolitan Church, Ithithanam Asha Bhawan and Chethipuzha Mercy Home are the main locations for the movie. Renowned film director, John Paul has done the scripting for the movie. The movie is directed by Raju Abraham and the cinematography works are handled by Sajan Kalathil. Media Village Studios at St. Joseph College of Communication, a venture of the Archdiocese of Changanassery, is the producer of the movie.
