SJCC Open Day 2025 offered an exceptional opportunity for students and parents to explore the diverse academic possibilities in the fields of cinema, media, and design. The first phase of the event, held on November 29 at St. Joseph College of Communication (SJCC), received an overwhelming response from participants. Designed for students of grades 10, 11, and 12, the competitions—including Watercolour Painting, Short Story Writing, and Reels Making—attracted impressive participation. Winners were awarded cash prizes of ₹10,000 and ₹5,000 for the first and second positions respectively, along with certificates of merit. As part of the Open Day experience, students had the chance to visit and explore a wide range of advanced facilities: Artificial Intelligence & Virtual Reality Lab 2D Animation Lab Material Library TV Floor Stop-Motion Lab Photography Lab Atmos Mixing Studio Radio Media Village 90.8 FM MAAC TV & MV TV Production Studios MV Cinemas Career counselling sessions and faculty interactions added immense value, giving aspiring learners deeper insights into academic pathways and professional opportunities in cinema, media, and design. According to college authorities, the event served as an inspiring platform for students to understand the scope of media studies and the wide spectrum of career options in the creative industries.
