Profile

Dr. Muthu U T's passion for journalism began early on, when she studied it as an elective at higher secondary level which made her to pursue a degree in Mass Communication. She Joined NMSM Government College in Kalpetta, Wayanad for BA Mass Communication and passed out in Second Rank. Furthering her studies, she obtained a Master's in Mass Communication and Journalism from the Department of Mass Communciation at the University of Kerala. After Post-graduation, she taught at prestigious media colleges like St Joseph’s College of Communication in Changanassery, S N College in Kollam, and Iqbal College in Peringammala,Trivandrum.

To deepen her expertise in mass communication, she pursued M.Phil at Madurai Kamaraj University, focusing on Journalism and mass communication. After completing M.Phil, she did doctoral research at Madurai kamaraj University itself on a topic ‘A study on Political communication through social media and its impact on political choices of people in Kerala.’ and awarded PhD in 2022. She has authored a book on ‘Big ideas of visual age,Latest trends in Television advertising ’, edited book chapters, presented numerous papers at various international and national seminars, and published research papers in UGC care-listed journals.

In addition to her academic career, Muthu U T holds professional experience in advertising as a content creator.
