Rev. Dr. Daniel Fernandes, SJ., M.A. Ph.D.
PRINCIPAL
Fr Daniel
completed his MA (Kannada Folklore) from the Mysore University in
1993 and thereafter pursued and completed his doctoral thesis on
Kannada folklore entitled "A Study on Kannada Folklore
Literature, with special reference to the works of Dr G Shankara
Paramashivya" at the Mysore University in 2006. During his academic carrier he has
been the recipient of three gold medals for academic excellence from
the Mysore University.
He is the Principal of St. Joseph’s College of Commerce.
Prior to this he has been the Vice Principal of St. Joseph’s College of Commerce
(2000-02), and at St. Joseph’s Evening College (1996-2000). He was
also the Assistant Director of Ashirvad (1987-2000) which is a Centre for Non-formal and
Continuing Education.
His areas of
interest are Kannada Literature, Cultural Studies, Tribal Studies, Psychology and Counselling.
He has
academic achievements include:

and "Methods of Teaching Literature" at Maharaja College,
Mysore, 1997.

Culture and Literature at St. Joseph’s College, Mysore University as well as various NGO Forums.

Controller of Examination
He graduated
from the Agricultural University, Hebbal (Bangalore) in 1973. After Ordination to the priesthood in the Society of Jesus in 1978,
he served in the North East for 3 years. From 1984-88, he was
the Coordinator
for National Adult Education at Anekal (Bangalore Rural Dt) as also
the Parish Priest of St Joseph's Church. From 1988 till 2001,
he was the Manager of St Joseph's Estate, Gudalur (Nilgiris).
Before joining SJCC, he was the Superior of the Regional Theology
Centre at Anekal.

Dr. Rajaram
|
Dr. Rajaram, M.A. Ph.D.
Professor & Head of the Department of English.
He has taught English
Literature and Language at the undergraduate level for over two decades. His early specialization has been in Linguistics and American Literature. His recent area of engagement is postcolonial Indian literature. His research work is on Narratives of Marginality with a special focus on Caste and Gender issues. He obtained his PhD from Bangalore University in 2004.
Dr. Rajaram’s articles on language, literature and culture, have periodically appeared in newspapers and
journals. His bilingual translations in English and Kannada have featured in the journal of Central Sahithya Academy. He has also translated the Writings of Ram Manohar Lohia, which have been published by Department of Kannada and Culture, Government of Karnataka. His talks on
Vachana Sahithya and the Poetry of Kabir have been broadcast by All India Radio Bangalore.
In May 2001, Dr. Rajaram was honoured with
Kirana Prabha Award for Contribution to Educational Excellence.
Dr Rajaram
is the Staff Coordinator for the Association for Literature, Music
and Arts (ALMA) which is a forum for students who are keenly
interested in appreciating the subtle nuances of Fine Arts and
Literature. Dr. Rajaram is at present, guiding two research projects in the area of postcolonial studies.

Dr. Lily
N. David

Dr. Lily N. David, M.Com., Ph.D.
Professor & Head of the Department of Commerce
Prof. Dr.
Lily N David has a Doctorate in Marketing awarded by the Bombay University. She
started her teaching career at her Alma Mater, the Narasee Monjee
College of Commerce and Economics, Mumbai, in 1980. She has been a part of Jesuit Education for
more than two decades, and has taught in various reputed college in Mumbai, Mangalore and Bangalore.
Her field of specialization is Marketing.
However she has developed an keen interest in subjects like Accountancy and Management Accountancy. She handles subjects like Marketing Management,
Corporate Accountancy, Financial Management, Management Accounting, Auditing, etc.
Her ability to
empathize with students enabled her to carry out the duties of the Governor of the
Student's Council effectively for a period of four years. At present
she is the coordinator of the Grievances Committee. She has also been appointed as a member of the Academic Council and Board of Studies for B.Com, BBM
& M.Com.
After the
College was granted the Autonomous status in Sept. 2005, Dr Lily David
was largely responsible in coordinating the efforts of various staff
members for the framing of the autonomous syllabus. She
personally interacted and obtained the consent of more than a
hundred senior and experienced faculty of reputed colleges in
Bangalore and Chennai to be on the Board of
Examiners as this would help to enhance the credibility of the
Examination System under autonomy.
Dr Lily
David has also guided 5 M.Phil. students who had registered under
the Alagappa University, Madurai Kamaraj University and Vinayaka
Mission University.
Dr. Lily David
considers teaching as her vocation and is constantly experimenting with new methods of teaching and means to handle students effectively. She regularly conducts a two day workshop on “Teachers Laboratory: Effective Classroom Teaching” for teachers of various educational institutions in the city.
As a result of interacting with the student community for more than two decades, she has developed a great interest in the areas of counseling and emotional intelligence. She has attended many workshops and
national seminars in this field. She also conducts workshops on Self Awareness, Proactive Behaviour, Leadership Skills, etc. At present she is the resource person for the
Certificate Course on
“Personal Growth Practices” at SJCC, Bangalore.

Mr. L. Augustin Amaldas |
Mr. Augustin Amaldas, M.Com., AICWA, B.Ed., PGDFM, DIM.
Reader in Commerce
Mr. L. Augustin Amaldas is a qualified
Cost Accountant
and a post graduate from Loyola College, Chennai.
This dynamic
teacher started his career in Jakhama (Nagaland) where he served for two years and then moved to this prestigious institution in 1988. Subjects taught: Costing, Statistics, Income Tax, Accountancy, Financial Management, etc.
Mr
Augustine took the initiative to formulate and prepare the entire
syllabus and course material for "Course Integration", under
the Autonomous Syllabus, a new subject, hither to not taught any
where in the Bangalore University.
He has held
the responsibilities of Staff Co-ordinator for NSS, Placement Cell
Officer and Co-coordinator of professional courses
like CA PE-I & PE-II, (CPT & PCC)
As a teacher he is willing to learn and relearn.
He strongly believes that a teacher should have a positive mind and must work for the benefit of students
both in academic and extra curricular activities.
During his
tenure as Placement Officer from 1999-2008, the college obtained 100%
placement for its outgoing batches in reputed companies such
as Infosys, KPMG, HP, Ernst & Young, J P Morgan, DE Shaw, Goldman
Sachs, First Source, TCS, IBM, Google, CIMA, OBOI, Standard
Chartered Bank, International School Inventure Academy, Fedral Bank, ICICI,
Northern Trust, ANZ Bank, HSBC, etc.

Ravi A Richard

Reader in Commerce
Mr Ravi holds a Master Degree in Commerce from Bangalore University and has passed the National
Eligibility Test (NET) for lectureship, conducted by the UGC. He has
obtained MBA in Finance from the Symbiosis University.
In 1992 He
started his teaching career in his Alma Mater, St Joseph's College
of Commerce. He is specialised in teaching Financial Accounting, Cost Accounting and Banking. He has published articles in leading newspapers and has co-authored a textbook for
Business Studies for the second year Pre-University Course,
“A Text Book for Business Studies", published by M/s Kalyani
Publishers. He
conducted a Corporate training programme for Software Engineers entitled “Fundamentals of Accountancy and Finance for non-finance professionals”.
His scholarly article "User Perception of Retail Banking
Services: A Comparative Study of Public & Private Sector Banks" was published in the ICFAI
Journal of Bank Management in May 2008.
Besides his
academic responsibilities he also served as the Governor of the
Student's Council from June 2003 to May 2008. During the NAAC
Re-Accreditation in June 2005 Mr Ravi was the Staff Coordinator. He has been the Coordinator of the NAAC–IQAC (Internal
Quality Assurance Cell) of the College since June 2005. Earlier, he was the
Staff Cultural Coordinator of the Student’s Council and the Secretary of the College Alumni Association.
He has served as the NSS
Officer of the College
from 1997 to 2004, and was instrumental in the construction of low cost houses for poor families in villages located in Bangalore Rural district.
He helped to set up a Rehabilitation Centre for the Disabled at Chikballapur. He has conducted numerous rural exposure camps and personality development
programmes for school and college students. He is also a HRD consultant
to the YMCA, Bangalore.
At
present Mr Ravi
is the Staff Coordinator for the E-Cell which helps to foster the
spirit of entrepreneurship among students. At his initiative
the College has tied up with the National Entrepreneurship Network (NEN),
a non profit organisation for promoting entrepreneurship on college
campuses.

Dr. Sajida Ahmed

Dr. (Ms.) Sajida Ahmed, M.A., M.Phil., Ph.D.
Professor & Head of Department of Hindi
Born in Mangalore,
Dr Sajida is an M.A. gold medalist in Hindi Literature and Literary
Criticism from the Bangalore University in 1989. She completed her M.Phil
(1991) and Ph.D (2002) at the Bangalore University.
She takes
an active interest and provides able guidance to the vibrant student
members of the Hindi Parishad of which she is the Staff Coordinator.
Earlier, she headed the Ladies Council for a period of two years.
She gives importance to interaction
among students and is open to suggestions put forward by the students. Although
she ensures a very friendly atmosphere in class, she never compromises on the level of discipline that ought to be maintained
in class.

Ms.
H G Manjula |
Ms. H. G. Manjula, B.Sc., M.Lib.
Librarian
Ms Manjula joined St. Joseph’s College of Commerce
in 1985. She has completed her Masters in Library Science from Bangalore University.
As a fruit of her rich
experience Ms Manjula has been instrumental in improving the facilities in the
college library and introduced the Open Access System in 2007. Students
are now able to browse through the books before selecting the titles thus making
the Library more student friendly.
She has helped to
steer the library into the digital world and at present the library is fully
computerized with an online data base searching facility. The SJCC library is the
member of DELNET, which provides on line bibliographical information of books. A
separate Computerised section with internet facility is exclusively at the
disposal of the Post Graduate and Research scholars of the College.
She has attended many
national seminars and an International Seminar "Digital Library"
organised by
University of Mysore in collaboration with the Indian Institute of Information
Technology, Bangalore.

Professor and Head of Department of PG & Evening Studies
Qualification: M.Com, M.P.M (Masters in Personnel Management), M.B.A (Finance) PhD, Executive programme in Management from IIM Bangalore, Advanced Accounts Officer’s Course (AAOC) at Coimbatore (Tamil Nadu) Advanced Data Processing Course (ADP) at Army institute of telecommunications & engineering, MHOW, MP.
Professional Career: He has been associated with Indira Gandhi National Open University, Kota Open University, Mount Carmel Institute of Management, Christ College, Presidency College, St. Joseph’s College of Business Administration, International Institute of planning and Management. He is certified by All India Management Association, New Delhi as AMT (Accredited Management Teacher). He has attended a number of State, National and International level Seminars and Workshops and has been resource person in some of the workshops. He has authored two books, Titled "Company law & Secretarial practice" and "Project Management". He writes regular columns for two fortnightly magazines published from Delhi, "Business & Economy" and "4Ps".
He is also member of All India Management Association and National Institute of Personnel Management.
As part of the Social Service he is associated with teaching English to students from the economically weaker sections from rural background at Mother Theresa College of Education, Bangalore.
At present he is Professor and Head of Department of PG and Evening Studies at the College.

Dr. A. M. Sheela, M.A., Ph.D.
Reader in Economics
A Postgraduate in Economics, Dr A M Sheela completed her doctoral
thesis
on gender studies entitled "Economic Conditions of Working Women in
Bangalore Urban District - a Study on the Relationship between
Employment, Income, Consumption and Savings in the Formal Sector" from the Bangalore University
in 2001.
She has been teaching since 1993. She started her career in Maharani's College as a guest faculty and continued to teach in many institutions in Bangalore. Teaching has not only enabled
her to widen her knowledge, but also to acquaint herself with students from varied back grounds, which in itself
is an enriching experience.
Being a
researcher by interest she has contributed to various
scientific journals and publications. She has authored a text-book entitled
‘Economics of Hotel Management’ for the first
year Bachelor of Hotel Management students of Bangalore University.
She has
also presented papers at various national and international seminars.

Ms. N. Sharmila

Lecturer in English
A post graduate from the University of Calicut, M.Phil from the University of Kerala,
and having cleared the National Eligibility Test for Lectureship in
’96 Dec, Ms. Sharmila began her career as a teacher in 1997, teaching post graduate students at Vidyanikethan, Kochi (97-98). She moved on to St. Teresa’s College,
Kochi, handling classes at the PU, UG and PG levels
(98-2000). For a period of three years (2001-04), she was working at
St Joseph's College of Arts and Science, teaching General and Additional English to the UG students.
She joined SJCC in 2004.
Ms. Sharmila
has a passion for teaching and creates a conducive environment for
learning, in her classes. A firm but humane teacher, Ms. Sharmila is
able to gauge and understand the academic requirements of her
students. The pattern of testing for the first year students of
Additional English, evolved by Ms. Sharmila, was accepted as model
by Bangalore University in April 2003. She was one of the staff
coordinators in charge of the Theatre Fest ENACT organized by SJCC
in 2004. Guiding the students in bringing out the College
Newsletters and Magazine are other responsibilities that Ms. Sharmila fulfills successfully.

Ms. Reema
Andrade graduated from the Goa University and completed her masters
at
St. Joseph’s College of Commerce, Bangalore (2004), and her M.Phil from Bharatidasan University
(2007).
She
started her teaching career at her Alma Mater in 2004 and also
taught as a part time lecturer in St. Joseph’s Evening
College. She has conducted classes for students of Secretarial
Training, and handles classes for the B.Com., BBM and CA
Foundation students.
Ms. Reema
handles various subjects like Auditing, Production and
Operations Management, Organisation Behaviour, etc. Her field of
specialization is Marketing. She has been the Staff coordinator of the
Sports Council, and was actively involved in the various activities
of the AICUF students, master minding its annual inter-collegiate
fest REVELATIONS. She also successfully coordinated the
Rural Exposure
Programmes organized for the BBM students of the college.

Mr. Arun M D’Souza

Mr. Arun Melcom D'Souza,

Physical Education Director
Having
graduated with a B.Com. from the Mangalore University Mr. Arun
opted to switch
over to physical education and obtained B.P.Ed. from Karnataka University
and M.P.Ed. from Barkatullah University, Bhopal. He was a Karate instructor from 1997 to 2001 in Mangalore. He joined St Joseph's English Medium High School,
Bangalore as Physical Education Teacher in 2003, and joined SJCC as Physical
Education Director in May 2004.
He attended a National Conference on
Physical Education and Sports Sciences
held at Christ College, Bangalore. He regularly encourages
students to participate in sports and games. His contribution
to the successful organization of SPIEL, an inter-collegiate
sports extravaganza of the City, is greatly appreciated. He aspires to
undertake research work in Physical Education.

Head of the Department of BBM
A Graduate from Mount Carmel College and post graduate from
the Bangalore University Ms Muktha holds an MBA from the Symbiosis
Institute of Management Studies, Pune.
She has also completed ICWAI Intermediate and cleared the
National Eligibility Test conducted by the UGC.
Ms
Muktha started her teaching carrier at UG level in 1994, and
joined SJCC on a full time basis in 2006 as a Reader in
Commerce. She taught as visiting faculty at the Canara Bank School of Management, Bangalore
University, and for the post graduate students of SJCC.
She has specialized in Cost Accounting, Income Tax, Financial Management, Business Maths, Statistics, Marketing and Financial Accounts.
She regularly conducts Business Quiz at
Collegiate and Inter-University level at the Bangalore
University.
She has
served as Staff
coordinator for various Councils such as the Academic, Cultural and Ladies
Council of the College. Her meticulous planning and
attention to the detail helped her to organise a very successful National level seminar
on Women Entrepreneurship
in 2007. At present she is the Head of the Department of
the BBM stream.

She
completed her B.Com. from Mount Carmel College, Bangalore with a distinction.
She obtained her M.Com. from the same institute in 2004, and M.Phil from
the Madurai Kamaraj University in 2006.
She started her teaching career in 2004
having taught at various institutions at the Post Graduate level.
She joined SJCC in 2005 and has been one of the staff coordinators of the Ladies Council,
Academic Council
and Cultural Council. She was mainly instrumental in setting
up the Business Lab at SJCC. Her cheerful disposition along with
her ability to make even a difficult subject simple, has endeared
her to her students.
She has prepared course material on “Human Values and Business Ethics”
for the students of PGDHRM, PGDMM, PGDBA of Bangalore University.
At present,
she is pursuing her Cost and Works Accounting (CWA), and aspires to secure a Ph.D in Finance.

She graduated from Christ College and
obtained her M.Com. specializing in Advanced Accountancy and Tax from St. Joseph’s College of Commerce.
She completed her M.Phil. from the Madurai Kamaraj University (2008). She has attended
and presented papers at State and National level seminars.
Ms Veenu joined SJCC
as Lecturer in Commerce in June 2005. She handles subjects such as Entrepreneurship, Banking, Marketing, International Business and Human Resource Management.
Her lively disposition infuses enthusiasm in students to actively
participate in the class room discussion and debates. Students
are encouraged to learn "beyond the syllabus" and Ms Veenu
contributes towards it by arranging suitable guest lectures by
Corporate Experts who enlighten the students about the current
business scenario.

Ms. S. Suganthi Raj, M.Com., M.Phil.
Lecturer in Commerce
She graduated from Jyoti Nivas College,
Bangalore and obtained her post graduation from Joseph’s College of Commerce
in 2005.
She completed her M.Phil. from Madurai Kamaraj University in
2007.
She began her profession by joining St. Joseph’s College of Commerce in
2005. She has been the staff coordinator of the sports and
cultural councils.
In 2005 she
was invited and took part in the celebrations of ‘World Youth Day’
held in Germany. She is kinesthetically endowed and has taken
keen interest in the formation and development of the college dance
team. She has choreographed many
dances and is a member of Seraphims, a youth choir.
From June
2008 she has undertaken the responsibility of Governor, Student's
Council, SJCC. She intends to pursue her doctoral studies in the
area of finance.

Ms. Ruth Lily Job

Lecturer in English
Having
completed her Master of Philosophy in English and
Linguistics Ruth Lily Job joined the Department of English at SJCC
in 2005. Prior to this she worked in the Corporate
sector at MPHASIS for a period of 7 months.
She has
attended a number of courses such as "Workshop in Corporate
Training" organised by Call Ready - an Institute for Corporate
Training, and Soft Skills course organised by AIACHE.
Her field
of interest includes Corporate Training, Business English and
Phonetics in which she intends to pursue her doctoral studies in the
United States.
Her
sincerity and striving to excel in a task undertaken prompted the
Management to appoint her as the Staff Coordinator for Certificate Courses
in its Department of Training & Development.

Ms. Gretta Furtado

Ms. Gretta Furtado,
B.A., B.Ed., M.Sc.(Counslg), Dip. Counselling (UK).
Student Counsellor
Ms Gretta completed her B.A. from Kumaon University, Nainital (1990),
Bachelor of Education from St Anne's College, Mangalore (1994), and
M.Sc. Counselling from Mother Teresa Women's University, Kodaikanal
(2008). In addition to this, she has obtained a Diploma in
Counselling from the Institute of St Anselm, Kent, U.K. (95-99).
She started her career as a teacher at St Antony's High School,
Bharabanki, Lucknow (1989-95). Between 1999 and 2000 she worked as
a Trainer, conducting various programmes on Personality Development,
Training in Counselling skills and Group Therapy. She was on the
Staff of the National Vocational Service Centre (NVSC), Pune
(2000-2003) which conducts
Pycho-Spiritual Training Programmes.
She has also conducted Orientation Programmes for High School
Teachers in Mangalore.
She has a number of years international exposure and has conducted
counselling skills programmes in UK as well as in Sri Lanka.
As a trainer she is a part of the team which conducts workshops for
Religious Formators of Asia, held in Sri Lanka.
She joined
SJCC in 2005 as a full time Students' Counsellor.
Her forte includes empowering people to deal with day to day
emotional crisis and teaching them skills such as Anger Management,
Building self-esteem, Stress Management, Grief Counselling,
Adolescence Problems. coping with Depression, etc.

Mr. T. H. Lavakumar

Mr. T. H. Lavakumar, M.A., MPA.
Lecturer in Kannada
Mr. Lava Kumar completed his B.A in Journalism, and proceeded to
complete, M.A. in English from KSOU, Mysore (1999). He has a Diploma in
Theatre Arts from NEENASAM, the prestigious Govt. recognised
Institute of Performing Arts (2000). He has the distinction of being the
first rank holder bagging two gold medals while completing his M.P.A.
(Master of Performing Arts), from Bangalore University (2004).
Mr Lava Kumar joined SJCC in 2006 as a Lecturer in Kannada.
He has actively participated in a number of people’s movement such
as Karnataka Rajya Raita Sangha (KRRS), Narmada Bacchao
Andolan, etc. He held the post of District Coordinator for the Govt.
sponsored Janapada Jathre (State level Folklore Fest). He
has been the Convenor of the
Karnataka
Nataka Academy for Bangalore Rural District from 2005 to 2008.
He is a regular columnist on theatre criticism in AGNI, HOSATU,
which are popular Kannada magazines. He has authored 23 street
plays and two plays for children namely “MALE HANIYA JAADU HIDIDU”
and “BEDARU BOMBE”. He has translated the play of J M
Synge’ “In the Shadow of the Glen” in to Kannada as “Henada Mane”
(2008). He established Theatre Forum called “Janamukhi”
in 2005.
The College Theatre Troup has greatly benefited from Mr Lava
Kumar’s vast experiences and expertise. He not only writes the
script and trains the student but also accompanies them when they
take part at the inter-collegiate, inter-university and National
level theatre competitions. In 2007 at the Christ College
inter-collegiate competition the play Kaniveya Neralalli
won the award for best actor and the best stage-set. In December
2007 under his able stewardship the College Theatre Team
participated at a National level theatre competition held at
Hyderabad, where his work “Colours of Shadow (in English) was
staged. The play won the II Prize, and also prizes for best stage
design, best costume and best actress award.
In October 2007, Mr Lavakumar was instrumental in organising a Street
Theatre competition on issues related to Child Labour in association
with International Labour Organisation (ILO), Child Right Trust. In April 2008 at Abinaya, a National level
theatre competion conducted by Jain College, another of his works
Hanada Mane, won prizes for Best Lighting, and Best Stage
Set.
Mr Lava Kumar also extends his expertise to other NGOs and has
conducted a number of Theatre Workshops for organsiations such as
Hengasara Hakkina Sangha (Women Right Forum), Karnataka
Rajya Raitra Sangha, Association of People with Disability (APD),
Samvadha (School for Alternative Education), Child Rights Trust,
Oxfam India, and the students of the Bangalore University.
He has worked with popular theater directors like Kanhiya Lal
(Manipur), Naripatta Raj (Kerala), B V Karanth (Karnataka), Jaya
(Delhi). Mr Lava Kumar presented a paper in an International
conference on “Caste & Gender Marginality in Post Independence
Indian Theatre” conducted by IFTR (International Federation for
Theatre Research) jointly with Bangalore Universit, and paper has
been selected for publication.
At SJCC he conducts a Certificate Course in Theatre Arts. He is the
Staff Coordinator for the College’s inter-collegiate theatre
festival called ENACT. He has been the Programme Officer of NSS
since 2007, and the Staff Coordinator for the Extension Activities
of the college which includes rural exposure camps, social awareness
campaigns, visit to orphanages and home for the aged.

Ms. Ruqsana Anjum, M.Com., M.Phil.
Lecturer in Commerce
Having graduated from Mount Carmel College,
Bangalore Ms Ruqsana completed her M.Phil on "Retail Banking
Services in India" from the Madurai Kamraj University
in 2006. She joined the staff of SJCC in August 2006.
Having specialized in financial accounts, cost accounts, statistics, financial management
and marketing she ably handles these subjects for the B.Com. and BBM
classes.
She has
prepared study materials on various commerce and management subjects
like Banking, Advanced Financial Management, Business Statistics and
Investment Management for the Bangalore University B.Com/BBM
students, which has been published by M/s Himalaya
Publications.
Currently
she is pursuing her Cost & Works Accounting exams, and
intends to complete her
doctoral studies in Finance.

Students' Counsellor
Ms Sandhya has a
Master’s degree in Psychological Counselling from Sampurna Montfort College,
Bangalore. She has specialised in Marriage and Family
counselling. She has attended and conducted group counselling
programmes and workshops. She has far and varied interests such as
tribal studies and anthropology, which gives a holistic approach to
her counselling as well as her worldview.
She joined
SJCC in 2006 as a full time Students' Counsellor. At present,
she is pursuing her Ph.D. in Counselling.

Rev. Sr. Joyce Lucas,

Lecturer in Holistic Studies
Sr Joyce Lucas belongs to the Daughters of St. Paul (Pauline Sisters).
She completed her schooling at St Ann’s High School (Mumbai).
Having graduated in Sociology from the Mumbai University she
completed her studies in Philosophy from St Charles Seminary (Nagpur)
and Theology at Jnana Deepa Vidyapeeth (Pune). Her interest
lies in the area of Media & Communication and this motivated her to
complete a
Diploma in Media and Communication at National Institute of Social Communication
and Research Training Centre (NISCORT), Delhi.
Her passion for youth, discipline and activities related to their integrity is what motivates her to address their needs.
She has a high sense of responsibility with total belief in teamwork.
She is highly motivated to realize the cherished dream of youth animation.
Her work experience includes conducting of personality development/media education
and value education seminars.
She joined
SJCC in 2006 and takes classes in Wholistic Development (Life Skills),
Religion & Value Education for the B.Com. and BBM students.

Commerce
A triple master degree holder with
an MBA in Marketing, Masters in Bank Management and Masters in Personnel Management
Ms Ramani Mabel joined SJCC in 2007. She has been the part of
the Women's Forum and the Cultural Council of the College.
She started
her career as a lecturer teaching the MBA students. During
this time, between 1995-97, she was one of the delegates from
her institution for the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).
Thereafter she worked for
a span of five years in the Corporate sector holding positions such as Branch
Manager for a Bangalore based private medical insurance company and
and CEO-Customer Relations for the Indian Granite Industry.
After a small stint
in the industry sector, she got back to teaching in reputed institutions like Birla
Institute of Technology (BITS), handling MBA & BBM classes at
the Ministry of Higher College of Technology in Muscat, Oman. She has taught subjects such as Marketing Management, Human Resources Management, Organizational Behavior, Principles of Management,
etc.
Apart from teaching, she had been associated with institutions for
student counselling and conducted workshops to employees of private sectors on Leadership Styles, Interpersonal Skills and Communication Skills.
She has attended an international conference on Transactional
Analysis.

She passed her Masters in Law (LLM) from
the Cochin University of Science and Technology in the year 2003 specialising in Consumer Law and Labour Law.
She also
has a Diploma in Business Management and Labour Law from
the National Council For Labour Management.
She has
specialized in Cyber Law having earned a Diploma from the Mumbai Law
College in association with Asian School of Cyber Laws.
She joined
SJCC in 2006 as a part time faculty and teaches Business Law.

Ms. Indumathi Philip, MSW (HRM).

Ms
Indumathi Completed her graduation from St Joseph’s Evening College, Bangalore and Masters in Social Work, specializing in Personal Management and Industrial Relations, from
the School of Social Work, Roshni Nilaya, Mangalore (2005).
She completed her Post Graduate Diploma in International Business in
2007 and is currently pursuing her M.Phil. at the the Sri
Venkateswara University, Tirupathi.
She started
her teaching career at St Joseph’s Arts and Science College,
Bangalore immediately after her post graduation. She joined
SJCC as a full time faculty in June 2007. She has attended National Seminars on Higher Education
- Challenges and Responses at Bangalore, Women’s Rights
at St. Xavier’s College, Ahmadabad and Human Resource Management
at Mangalore. She has been actively involved in various academic and
cultural activities, and is currently the
Staff Coordinator for AICUF.
She was awarded the
Best Outgoing Student in the college and has won awards for academic excellence throughout
the college days.

Ms. Sneha S. Rai

Ms. Sneha S. Rai, M.Sc.(Maths), PGDCA.
Lecturer in Business Maths
She
completed M.Sc in Mathematics and PGDCA (Post Graduate Diploma in
Computer Applications) from the Mangalore University. She is
currently pursuing her M.Phil. from the Sri Venkateswara University,
Tirupathi. Her main area of interest in mathematics is graph theory and operations research.
After her studies she
opted for teaching as her profession, and in 1995 she joined St Agnes College, Mangalore
as a lecturer and served for a period of four years. She continued
her teaching profession in Miranda Institute of Management
Studies, Bangalore. She has served this college for seven years and was designated as Head of the Department of Mathematics and Computer Science.
She joined
SJCC in June 2007 as a a full time faculty. She has been teaching Mathematics, Computer Science and Statistics for B.Sc,
B.Com, BCA, & BBM students. Her methodology of teaching
and approach to the subject has been appreciated by the students and
enabled them to learn Maths with ease. She values students satisfaction the most.

Ms Rose Mary completed

her teaching career in 2005, and joined SJCC in June 2007. She
teaches Management Information System and Business Applications to

Ms Rathi completed

and a PGDCA from St. Xavier's College (Autonomous), Palayamkottai.
She completed her M.Phil. in 2008 specializing in "Capital
Market Analysis" from the Bharathiar University, Coimbatore.
She started her
teaching career
in 2006 at the Miranda Institute of Management Studies, Bangalore, and
joined SJCC in 2007.
During her
college days she was a member of the NCC Tamil Nadu Contingent which won the Inter Directorate RD Championship Banner in 1987. She has been
the Staff Coordinator for the Cultural Council, and in June 2008 she
was appointed as Staff Secretary.

She has to her credit six years of work
experience in the IT and ITES (Information Technology Enabled
Sector) sectors. Thereafter she chose teaching as her profession and
handled both B.Com & BBM students at the Indian Academy Group of
Institutions (2007-08).
She joined SJCC as Lecturer and Placement Officer
in June 2008.
She handles subjects like Consumer Behavior, HRD and Business to

Wellington Staff College, Wellington.

French.
Ms Jhumur Roy
handled the PG students as a part-time lecturer and in June 2008 she
was appointed as a full time teaching faculty at SJCC. She handles
both UG and PG classes.

Ms Komal A Dave
is a Post Graduate in Commerce from St Joseph’s College of Commerce
(2008) and an alumni of St Anne’s First
Grade College for Women (Miller Road), Bangalore.
During her
post graduate studies at SJCC she actively participated in the
E-Journal Editorial Team (Nov 2007), the Placement cell and various
cultural activities.
While she was
still an under graduate student she started working for ITC Info
Tech Sitel on a part time basis from 2004 to 2008, thus acquiring
experience in the industry.
In June 2008
she commenced her teaching career in her Alma Mater as a lecturer in
commerce. Her field of interest is Finance and she aspires to do her Ph.D. in this area
of studies.

College (2005-2006)
During her post graduate studies at
SJCC she was a part of the E-Journal
Editorial Team [Nov 2007] and also took active part in placement
cell for the PG Department of SJCC. She was the
Student Representative in the Academic Council of SJCC for the year
2007-08. She has coordinated and participated in various cultural
events during her post graduation course.
In June 2008, she was appointed as a
full time faculty in the department of commerce at SJCC and is
extremely glad to have begun her teaching career in her Alma Mater.
She intends to further equip herself
professionally by pursuing her doctoral studies in Finance. |
